Two Way Street ...

We regard breeding and puppy placement as a two way street, one by which both of us benefit.  When you buy a Chezor Golden Retriever, you support ethical, responsible breeder hobbyists who have invested a great deal of time to studying the golden retriever breed, its pedigrees, entering competitive events to show their goldens merits, and obtaining full clearances before breeding.

We offer:

  • Our best efforts to screen the sire and dam, and littermates for potential fatal heart defects, crippling hip and elbow problems, blinding eye concerns, early-onset cancer, epilepsy, the kind of temperament for which goldens are known, and body structure that will allow your dog to grow old gracefully.  There are no guarantees.  However, we have researched this litter's pedigree and asked long-time golden mentors to screen it also.
  • A fit & conditioned, well-nutritioned mom, properly cared for before and during her pregnancy, and skillful handling of the new puppies during their first eight weeks, training them on different surfaces, agility, dumb bells, feathers, the beginnings of potty training, and sit and come commands.
  • Temperament-tested puppies to fit the right one to your family.
  • A health check for the puppy before it leaves us, by a licensed veterinarian.
  • Puppies with appropriate vaccinations, along with a record of such, and suggestions for continued vaccination or titer schedules.
  • Substantial rebates for spay/neuter operations; obedience class; health clearances submitted to OFA and CERF for hips, elbows, heart, thyroid and eyes before your golden is 30 months old, and show and performance titles.
  • To refund the purchase of the price of your puppy, until the age of three years, if it is prevented from living a normal, active life as a pet and companion because of genetically inheritable disease, such as severe or moderate hip dysplasia, grade 2 or 3 elbow dysplasia; entropion, extropion, or PRA; subvalvular stenosis (SAS), epilepsy, or cancer.
  • Continued breeder support over your golden's lifetime

We expect you to:

  • Embrace your Chezor golden retriever as an intimate part of your family, including keeping it as an inside dog
  • Provide good nutrition, fresh water, proper exercise and preventative veterinarian care.
  • Promise not to chain or tie your golden out in the yard, nor crate it  more than a few hours at a time.
  • Attend at least one obedience class (with full attendance) and a passing certificate.
  • Train your puppy with humane, positive methods.
  • Socialize your puppy with supervision to many different people, dogs and environments.
  • Spay/neuter your puppy, if it is sold as a pet.
  • Compete in conformation, obedience, agility, tracking and/or the field if your puppy is sold as a show or performance golden.
  • Keep in contact with us about your Chezor golden retriever at least once every year.
  • Support us in breeding healthy puppies by doing health clearances on your golden and providing us the results.
