Goals
We are a small multi-purpose, hobby breeder. This means we occasionally breed a golden litter
after serious consideration of temperament, birdiness, structure, longevity, and sound health, both in the goldens being bred, and in their pedigrees. We
maintain no kennels. Our goldens live alongside us in our home.
Our ideal golden is primarily a handsome, talented jack-of-all trades. It has the drive, intelligence, bidability and body to successfully compete in all
the golden sports; conformation, obedience, tracking, agility, hunting, in addition to being a faithful and relaxed family companion, and well-behaved
community member, with training.
We compete in American Kennel Club (AKC) and Canadian Kennel Club (CKC)
events with our goldens, so we can publicly verify their worthiness to be bred. Competing against other goldens at both Specialties and all-breed shows
allows us to truly document the courage, adaptability, athletic soundness, trainability, intelligence and nose of the goldens we breed, those we choose to
breed to, and evaluate the litters we produce.
We also screen our breeding stock for OFA hips, elbows, heart, thyroid and CERF eye
clearances by board-certified practitioners. By contract, we reward our puppy owners for
continuing this tradition so that we can gather verifiable information to improve future breedings.
We have been active members of the GRCA (Golden Retriever Club of America) since 1996. Members of the MSGRC (Midnight Sun Golden Retriever Club) since it's inception in 2002. We have also been members of our local dog
club, CKCoJ (Capital Kennel Club of Juneau) since 1996. We encourage you to visit these links to learn more
about goldens and the activities you can enjoy with them.
