Perry and Linda Shipman were both born and raised in San Diego, California, and attended San Diego State University, where they met in 1970, married in 1972, and graduated with Bachelor of Arts degrees in the mid-1970's.  They moved to Juneau, Alaska, where they currently reside, in 1976.

Perry established his own computer consulting company, Evergreen Computer Services, in 1992, through which he provides LAN network maintenance and security, web development, programming and troubleshooting services to government agencies, businesses, and school districts.

Linda has maintained a therapeutic massage practice at home since 1989, providing  more than 7000 hours of stress and pain relief massage over 14 years.  She is Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCTMB) since its inception in 1996.  She also established a piano studio in 1998, where she teaches children and adults basic piano skills in classical music.
